Jasper's Secret
A/N: Hey guys! So, how's 2010 so far? I'm really sorry for not writing earlier, but for those who read Match Made In Hell, there'll be an update…soon. Between homework, shooting and working out, there's really no time left for anything else. Until then, enjoy this little gem.
DISCLAIMER: Don't own Twilight and all related things…bla bla bla.
JASPER'S SECRET
I watched the creature from afar. Heard the blood pound through its veins. Human blood. Of course, 'it' wasn't a human. No- I knew better than to listen to their heartbeats, to be tempted. But from time to time…it was a habit to reward myself. Why work so hard if there wasn't a prize, I figured. So I created one.
No one knew about my little secret, my prize. Not even my darling Alice. Especially Alice. It just made me all the more un-worthy of her, but losing her was something I knew I couldn't take. So no one knew. And I always made sure it stayed that way.
My head snapped up as the creature prepared to take flight. I wouldn't have that. It stilled, and I began to sink into a crouch. In a way, it was just like a vampire. Humans were disgusted by it. It drank their blood. It was a silent predator, one you could never catch. But in so many ways, it wasn't like us. It lacked immortality, 'super' senses, grace and beauty. It could come out whenever it wanted; wasn't hindered by the sun.
I sighed, shook my head wistfully, then went for the prize. The mosquito almost got away, but my increased vampire senses would have none of that. I lunged for it, grabbed it in my hand, making sure to squeeze it to death, then brought it to my teeth, where I greedily sucked out what little amount of human blood this measly insect had managed to acquire.
When the blood got bitter, telling me that I had run out of human blood, and that the mosquito's blood was up next, I threw the offending creature to the ground and ran back to Alice.
In two weeks' time, I would repeat this. Then I would go back to my vegetarian diet. It's a hard life, but someone has to live it. And that someone, just happened to be lil' ol' me.
I know, "what the f**k?!" I guess I'm just having fun. Review to tell me how much I suck!
Xoxo,
Ness.
