Okay, I know I have stories to work on, but I'm having a lot of fun writing one-shots, and this one just came to me. Hope you like it! Please review!

"Lily!" James called after her as she walked to the Gryffindor common room.
"On first name terms now are we, James?" she asked, smiling.
"Well, you know, this way I get to say your name as much as I want. Lily, Lily, Lily."
She laughed. He loved the way she laughed. Like a million tiny bells in the wind.
"I got you a Christmas present," he said.
"You didn't have to do that," she said quickly, her face heating up. "I didn't get you anything."
"I didn't expect you to," he said, shrugging it off. Then he pulled a small neatly wrapped box out of his pocket. "Open it," he said.
"It's not Christmas yet," she argued.
"Well, I want you to open it before we both leave for home."
She looked like she was about to cry. "I'm not going home this year," she said, and he could tell she was holding back tears.
"Oh," he said, embarrassed to have made her cry. "I'm sorry."
"It's all right," he said. "You didn't know."
"Open the present," he said quietly. She did.
"Oh James, it's beautiful!" she cried, lifting up the small silver necklace.
"It's magic," he said. "It turns gold when you're with someone you love."
"Wow," she breathed, admiring it as she put it around her neck. "I can't see it," she complained after it was around her neck.
James reached into his pocket for the small mirror he had been sure to bring. But it wasn't there. He searched for it until she said she was sorry, but she had to go work on homework.
And he hadn't found the mirror. So Lily didn't see that the necklace had turned gold.
