The Storm
A/N: Yay! New story to make up for the accidental (and really long) hiatus! Also one of the three stories I promised to write like a year ago.
Disclaimer: I don't own anything except for the plot.
Nina woke up way later than she normally does that day. She glanced at her clock, 11:37 a.m., the bold red letters read. "Ugh," she groaned, she hated waking up late. Half her day was already gone. Thank goodness the students were on spring break now, otherwise she would be in a lot of trouble.
When she got up to get some breakfast, she noticed that the house was eerily quiet. Where was everyone? Was there a new mystery that Sibuna didn't tell her about? All of the sudden it hit her. They had all gone to see that cheesy new romance movie. Now Nina was all about cheesiness and she loved romance, but Amber kept telling her how it was "the new Twilight!" Nina could really do without the original Twilight, thank you very much.
That is the reason Nina ate her syrup doused pancakes in complete silence. She was the only moving thing in that creepy, old house. Which didn't exactly make her happy. Even though there was no mystery going on right now, nothing that could threaten her life in this house, she still felt weird. I mean, apparently even Victor and Trudy went! There must have been someone in this house who hated the idea of the movie as much as she did. Not to mention, if it was Amber's idea, how come Amber didn't wake her up insanely early and force her to go? Not to mention these people sound like stampeding cattle when they are all getting ready, at least that was sure to wake her up. The whole thing was definitely a bit strange.
She turned-on the TV to break the silence. A re-run of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo was on. Something funny to take her mind off of everything.
It wasn't just the silence that was bothering her though, it was also the fact that her and Fabian broke up. They had a giant fight and now they haven't talked for a week. She tried to act like it didn't bother her, but every time she looked at him, she died a little inside. She was also the worst liar in the world, so she wouldn't be surprised if the whole house already knew. That fact didn't make her particularly in the mood for romance, especially not "the most romantic movie of the year!" (Amber's words, not hers.) Speaking of Fabian, how was he not here? Surely he could of come up with something to convince Amber to not make him go. If Nina's memory is correct, he despises Twilight and everything like it. This day was getting weirder and weirder.
Still, she tried to go about her day as normal. She got dressed in her favorite striped cardigan with a red tank underneath and her favorite pair of jeans. She made herself look decent and plopped down on her bed, where she planned to spend the rest of the day on her laptop, to take her mind off of the increasing creepiness of the situation.
