I guess I'm kind of a noob because I've really only played on a creative, peaceful server since 1.8 came out. The first time I tried survival I had no idea what I was doing so this diary of my time as a minecrafter should be fun! Also I'm using an idea from another diary (Snow Pig you are AWESOME) (Pleas don't sue me:-B) If I find a way for pictures then I will put pictures on. Here we go:
I wake up on a small island surrounded by ice. I wander around a bit before coming back to the same spot. I dig out the inside and find that it is much too small to live in. (Now I know the basics. Get wood, make a house and don't get eaten by monsters. Now I have no idea what these monsters look like so well we can only hope.) I get the wood from my tree on my little island and make a box and start putting it down. I decide that I wanted to make a massive castle, then go to the nether and make a base there as well. (My friends are always talking about the nether) I make a pick and smelt some wood for charcoal and make torches. (I know a few basics but I'm still a noob) I carve out a little hole.
By this time it's nightime
So I turn in for the night. I realize in the options that there is no sleep button so I wait in a corner hoping that whatever is out there doesn't smell me or whatever they do. Finally curiousity gets the better of me and I walk up the stairs and look outside. I don't see anything so I walk outside and hear a growl. I run back inside and jump down my stairs and hide in the most secluded corner of my hovel. I walk back outside and hear the growl again but this time closer than before. I block up my entrance with dirt and head back downstairs again. I decide to just wait out the rest of the night inside. That's when I realize I could be mining instead of huddling in a corner. I make a smaller hole and put some stairs in it and decide to sit there and wait until morning.
