Finn's Hat

Jake watched his brother carefully sew up a tear in his favorite hat. Jake never understood why Finn loved his hat so much. He was so protective of it. If it got a rip or a tear, he would freak out and sew it up almost immediately. He wouldn't let anyone else fix his hat. If it got a tear, he would sew it before anyone else could even offer to. He wouldn't even let Raggedy Princess, the most careful with scissors and needles, touch it!

"Finn?" Jake asked. Finn looked up from his hat. "Why do you like that hat so much?" Jake asked. Finn frowned slightly and flipped his blonde bangs out of his eyes. "It's the only thing I have from my parents," he answered simply. Jake looked confused. "You have plenty of stuff from mom and dad," he pointed out. Finn rolled his eyes. "My hat's the only thing I have from my parents. My Human parents," he corrected himself. "Oh," Jake said. Jake was so used to Finn being his little brother, he almost forgot they didn't have the same parents.

"It's the only thing from another Human," Finn said silently to himself as he finished sewing the tear.
