Golden-eyed HopeDisclaimer: I don't own twilight

We had just hunted and Carmen was sobbing tearlessly into my shoulder. "Oh Eleazar, I hate this!" she cried. "I know, I know" I whispered, stroking her hair and feeling pretty miserable myself. "Those poor people" she whispered, gazing into my red eyes. They had been a young couple, talking and laughing, him pulling her down the alley, talking to us, the laughter in their eyes slowly turning to fear… I pushed the thoughts away and looked at Carmen. She was the only good thing in my life, the bright spark in my dark night. I put my arms around her and kissed her hair. We stayed like that for a long time. The next day we were running when we smelled the scent of others of our kind. We followed the scent until we came to a clearing. We stopped at the edge of the clearing standing in a relaxed, nonthreatening position. In the clearing were three female vampires. They were talking and laughing and strangely they had golden eyes. A girl with strawberry-blond hair looked up and saw us. "Oh!" she said in surprise. The other two looked up. They came toward us cautiously, stopping a few feet away. "I am Eleazar and this is my mate Carmen" I said. "I am Tanya Denali and these are my sisters, Kate and Irina." said the girl with strawberry-blond hair, "We have a permanent residence nearby" "A permanent residence?" I asked, "How?" "We do not hunt as you do" she answered. "We only hunt animals that is why we have golden eyes" Carmen and I exchanged a look, our eyes full of hope. The Denali invited us to stay with them and we accepted. When we were alone our faces broke into wide smiles. We hugged and kissed and laughed. "This is incredible" I said. "Yes" Carmen giggled, "And besides golden eyes are so much more fashionable then red eyes."
