Chapter 1
Lara is sitting on a bench in the middle of the park. It is two o'clock in the morning. She doesn't want to go home. In her hand there is a letter.
11 June 2008
Dear Ms. Montague,
I have read your letter. I have spoken to a few of our teachers here at Hogwarts. Some of them know your family very well. Your parents have not sent you to school last year. We can not accept students that aren't aloud to come by their parents. If you can manage to convince your parents, you are more than welcome to join Hogwarts in the second year. Ofcourse you will have to do all the work from the first year in the summer months. The teachers of the school will send you some homework and in the first week of the second year you shall take the exams you need to pass to get to the second year.
I will also send a letter to your parents trying to convince them too. Maybe with some teamwork from both of us we can get you into this school.
I hope to see you in September.
Sincerely,
Minerva McGonagall
Headmistress of Hogwarts
School of witchcraft and wizardry.
She actually got an answer. But her parents did also get a letter. Her parents were working. But Lara could not be home when they would get home because she didn't want the confrontation right now. She was actually going to Hogwarts, she was allowed, she would work her butt of to get into that school. The only thing standing in her way were her parents.
"Hiding out here will not make things easier." A voice says from behind.
"Ed, you scared the hell out of me. How in the bloody hell did you get out of the house to find me. You are only twelve years of age. You shouldn't be out here with your fancy clothes and your fancy attitude."
"I told mum and dad that I knew where you would be and that I would get you to come home and actually talk with them about this stuff. I told them that you were not happy in that ridiculous school of yours. You don't have any friends and you ace every test with ease, you don't study so you have a lot of free time, which you spent researching magic. So they better let you go to Hogwarts so you can learn about magic in a safe way." Ed explains to his twin sister.
"You really told them that?" Lara asks.
"Yes, you have been depressed for a whole school year. That is something they don't see because of the whole boarding school stuff and your teachers don't tell them anything because they like the money they get from you. But now that Liz is actually going there to next school year they shouldn't be to sad don't you think?"
Her brother was always the smart one when it came to social skills. Especially with their parents.
"Thanks… well let's go then."
Together the twins walk back to the mansion they call home.
"Grace! Nick! Monty and Rory! Come downstairs right now!" Maysy calls her children.
After a few second and a lot of noise the four kids stand in front of their mother.
"So, it's the beginning of the summer holidays. You will all have some chores to do in the upcoming weeks."
"But mom, Monty and I are really busy with designing our clothes and stuff, we don't have time for chores." Rory replies with a bit of a winy voice.
"I don't care, it is not much, the elves are doing most of it, I just want you to know how life is without a house-elf."
"Just give us the list and we will figure stuff out. O, and mum, Dan will be close by with his parents for a week. Can they visit? I like him to see where I live and meet you guys too." Nick tells his mother.
Dan is this best friend. He met him at the beginning of the school year when they both got sorted into Gryffindor. They became really good friends.
"That is fine with me honey. Maybe he can help you with your chores." Maysy winks at her youngest boys. These kids grow up so fast…
"Mom! Where are my socks! I can't find them and I don't want to practice Quidditch with bare feet!" Mitchell Garcia yells to the other room.
His mother walks in with his green and silver socks.
"Why are you training already. You will only be in second year. Most of the people don't get in that young." His mother tells him.
"I heard that Lynn is practicing too. I can do anything he does better. I will beat him and make Slytherin the best team it has ever been."
"Look, winning is not everything okay, just try to spend some times with you friends. They are more important then the kids you don't particularly like. I don't want any letter from the headmistress this year with the fact that you have been fighting with the Lynn boy again."
"Yes mother." Mitchell put on his socks and his shoes and goes outside to train with his new broom.
