Some say the world will end in fire,

Ginny walks down the corridor, her entire being trembling with the after effects of the Cruciatus curse. There's only a few steps until the room of requirement comes into view and she can enter it, and she only prays her body will carry her that far, despite the periodic spasming it suffers through. From this, she knows that if the curse was kept up much longer, she would have gone insane. She shudders internally at the thought.

Some say in ice.

Luna immediately rushes to her. "What's wrong, love?"

Luna is her ice, her coolness and peace that she so desires at that moment. She's always there, has been from their childhood. And she never loses her temper, never becomes the demons that haunt Ginny's dreams, especially from the Chamber of Secrets fiasco in their first year.

From what I've tasted of desire,

I hold with those who favor fire.

Luna can immediately tell if something's wrong.

"I don't think I can endure this anymore, " Ginny sobs quietly into Luna's arms.

Ginny is Luna's fire. The yin to her yang. For ice cannot exist without fire, and they both know this. They complete each other, even if their personalities are of two opposite elements. But that's a mere technicality, for they are very much in love, and anyone can see that.

But if it had to perish twice,

I think I know enough of hate,

"We'll get through this, just think of all the reasons why we need to stay strong, why we can win this," Luna replies, although she's terrified inside.

"Ginny can't lose hope, not now, when we're so close to our final goal of freedom," she thinks.

Most of the staff are death eaters, so they're technically up against the world within the school, so all of the younger children need them. They have three support bases who are so strong: Neville is willing to fight for them, Luna is so calm and can think with a clear head even in the face of peril, and Ginny has persevered throughout the year and hasn't given up - yet. But she may be close to doing so, and that's not a good sign. Mainly because one of their main support bases is Ginny, and if she gives up, they may not be able to get through this.

To say that for destruction ice,

Is also great,

And would suffice.

Luna knows that if Ginny breaks, she will too. And Luna is fiercely protective of those she loves, just like Ginny and Neville are too. If someone breaks her love, they will break her, and she will cause destruction. She has been in this mindset since her mother's death, so it is extremely difficult to snap out of it. Let it never be said that Luna is weak.

Ginny, upon looking up, sees that look in Luna's eyes, and leans up to tilt Luna's head downwards, wiping her tears as she does so.

They rest their foreheads against each other, breathing in each other's scent to give them courage.

"We can do this," Luna murmurs.

"Yes," Ginny replies. "We can."
