He looked at me with a grin
And I held my smile within
I know there was no reason to hide
But I've always held onto my pride.
He would tease and joke around
I went along with him many rounds
His sunny smile and bright eyes
Seemed to see what beyond lies.
I would be joking a bad joke
If I say I wanted him to choke
When he promised me to show the world
I knew it was just moment of spur.
My heart constricted painfully to see
Pained eyes of his looking at me
But I turned my back to him
And left everything on a whim.
