Water Poem

A pool of wonders
A pond of despair
I am the lake of life
The ancient mystery
Forever young; forever blue
Everywhere, you shall see me
For if I am not present
Surely, you won't be
My purpose is unclear
My origins a smear
My movements but a blur
My presence is a cure
You know me not
Although you have wondered & studied
For more than a lifetime
You still know me not
Eons may pass
Without a thought, without a care
Not even the slightest of tears
For, you see, I will last
Even when the wrinkles of time
have scarred your face
I will remain forever young
Ever smooth, ever bounteous.
Forever here, always near
I shall be forever with you
'Til the day you die

And even then
I shall remain
I can stir the earth
And bring down
The very plot of earth
You live on
Overflow and choke I shall
If you ever bother
Nature's perfect balance
You will have no place to rest
Nowhere to hide
For if you are still alive
I will find you
with waves
Stronger than fortified forts
Higher than proud sky scrapers
I alone shall dominate
I alone shall rule
You cannot beat me!
So please do me a favor
And don't drink me!
