A/N: This will not follow either world's established cannon, no matter how much I try. I love both series (the anime and the manga), but I'm not well-versed enough to be accurate. Isn't that why it's called "fiction", though? This is also my first time publishing any of my work, so please be honest in your feedback. Please keep it polite though. I want to become a better writer, not be lectured on how this never happened or that should be different. I know it's messed up, that's the whole point of this note. So, I really hope you enjoy my debut work!
A History of Strange Paths: After the Hidden Leaf's epic battle with the nine-tailed fox demon, where the fourth Hokage made the ultimate sacrifice, the village had a secret meeting. They decided that the baby in which the demon was sealed, Naruto, would be happier growing up somewhere far away, where there would be nobody to judge him or treat him cruelly for what he has inside of him. Somewhere that he could be at peace, where the Hidden Leaf is just that-hidden, nobody would know who he is or where he came from. After some time (10 years or so), a jonin would be sent out to bring Naruto home.
Enter FMA.
Alphonse and Edward Elric are running around playing when they hear crying in the bushes. Upon inspection, they find an abandoned baby boy with a strange mark on his chest, crying and hungry. They take him to their mother, Trisha, who feeds the boy. She finds a letter with Naruto, explaining a few things that Trisha would need to know, and she adopts the baby as her own. Naruto grows up with Alphonse and Edward, and the family spend many years together, happy, until tragedy strikes, and Trisha falls ill and dies.
Naruto runs away, upset and lost, and unsure what to do with himself now. He runs into Kakashi, who was sent to collect him. After the two talk and Naruto tells his story, Kakashi brings the boy home to Kohona. Meanwhile, Al and Ed try to bring their mother back using alchemy, which produce disastrous results.
Three years later, when Ed and Al are Alchemists, and Naruto has graduated from the Ninja Academy, fate decides to bring the trio together again. Naruto is returning home when the story begins, as Ed and Al begin their new lives.

UPDATE: I am sorry to all of you who have followed this story and have made it a favorite. I thank you for it, and I thank all the visitors who come to see my summary. I am apologizing that Chapter 1 is not up yet. I have been working on it, but I have 2 jobs and a 10 month old daughter, so it isn't getting done as quickly as I hoped.
