"I just want her to be happy," Carol leaned into the table and spoke in secret tones."That's all I want. And she likes this guy she does. I'd rather she be with Danny, but she's made it clear she won't see him---and it's not healthy for her to pine over a guy she can't have. And Ben is cute and interested so she needs a little pushing---so I pushed. But now—I love Danny, he makes her light up, and when she's in a good mood it's a better day for me. Danny is such a great guy and perfect for her—he's the only one who treats me alike a person—you know how they can be—just come in and treat you as the—assistant, the one in the way to get to the prize, but not Danny. Sounds like I missed him—I did---but not like that. I just liked the feeling he brought around the office—and I think Ben can do that for her. I hope. Unsure. I kind of feel sometimes like I'm boosting myself up just to make her happy—but now that he's back it's gonna get complicated. I mean, I was so happy when he walked into the office, but then I thought, "Oh no." This is going to get complicated—I mean she's with Ben now—they have this thing—it's just getting off the ground—and he walks back into her life—She can't be with him, I know her, she won't go back on her morals like that—so it's no trouble right? But it is—its is trouble—it's the worst time for him to come back. I just want her to happy. That's all. And I should know pining over a man who can't have is painful. Its hurts. I just want to help. I just want her to be happy. I know she's telling herself it won't be a problem, but now that Danny's back---all I'm say'in is it's gonna get interesting. Which is great when you're watching it on TV, but when you see someone you care about go through it---it's hard. Yeah, I know you know too." She paused and leaned back in her mess hall chair. "I just want her to be happy. There's nothing wrong with that right?"
