She glided sweetly and silently into the room. Her hair wisped back into a curl by the side of her face. Her white skirt danced in the breeze. Her eyes shined with exceitement, and her laughter echoed in his ears. She was the most beautiful woman alive to him. But it had all started when she became a girl he was just aware of, to a girl with blooming confidence and a beautiful smile. Maybe it happened in a day, in a moment, or over a period of time. He didn't know. Nor was he ever going to know. All he knew was that when by the end of his 4th year she became his world. The only problem was that she had no idea. His shy glance was too scared to even be caught looking at her, so he, like any other shy boy of his age, avoided her. When she passed him in the hallways and smiled, he looked away, when she stood in the sunlight like a goddess, he tried not to see her.
He tried to think of what made him see her so differently. Was it because his outlook on the world changed, or because she had changed, and finally bloomed into a beautiful woman? He knew that she was different. She was not of porcelain skin, or of light, golden, hair. Her skin was slightly tan, and her face was round. Her eyes were not what you would call beautiful, but they were full of something deeper that he yearned to see. Her hair was never made up or fancy, it was always in a ponytail or up on her head. She never wore make-up, and everything about her was natural. She didn't try to catch boys, nor did she flirt openly with them. She was as innocent as a child, but as intelligent as a philosopher.
He wanted to be her first everything. First kiss. First date. First Love. Since that moment when he first saw her as a different person, he was sure that he would never hurt her. But doesn't every boy naively in love promise the same thing? Isn't that what the girls want to hear? That this one will be their first and their last. But his dreams are hopeless.
