I Didn't Know We Were Doing Presents?
A/N
Hey guys! Happy Valentine's Day! Here is a little soppy Zax Valentine's one shot, based around the Sweethearts bit in the trailer. And I don't own the first bit of dialogue, that belongs to BBC Casualty. I don't own Casualty or the characters either!
Reviews welcome,

"Close your eyes and hold out your hands." Max ordered. It was Valentine's Day, and unusually, it was snowing. It's was Max's favourite weather, Zoe on the other hand, hated it. the reason behind her dislike for fluffy snowflakes was "It's cold, it makes my hair frizzy, and it ruins my makeup" despite Max's continuous question of "Do you wanna build a snowman?" (no, she did not want to build a bloody snowman)
"Oh Max, I didn't know we were doing presents." She sighed, but obeyed.
He placed a packet of LoveHeart sweets into her hands. "And we're not…" she said as she saw them.
"You like them though Zo, don't you?" Max clarified.
"Yes, of course I do" she beamed, giving a him a kiss. "Happy Valentine's day, I love you gorgeous" she smiled.
"And I love you too, beautiful, amazing incredible Dr Hanna" he smiled, taking her hand and leading her into the ED.
"My head will get so big with all your compliments, it won't be able to fit through these doors soon! Bye, I love you" she smiled, placing her stethoscope around her neck, squeezing his hand and releasing it.
"Love you too" he smiled, pecking her on the cheek.
She smiled, and they parted.
She put her things down in her and Ash's office, and made her way out into the ED.
She treated some patients, and got some paperwork done.
Meanwhile, Max had a plan to put into motion.
He went into Connie's office. The Clinical Lead was in a bad mood, she was alone on Valentine's Day, as usual. So she'd heard, even Grace had a valentine. Not a proper one, of course, but she had one up on her mother!
"What do you want?" she asked the porter angrily.
"Er, could you do me a favour?" he asked her nervously.
She rolled her eyes. "Well, what is it then?"
"Could you please delay Zoe for about ten minutes at the end of her shift?" Max begged.
She rolled her eyes. "Fine."
Max smiled and thanked her. "It's very much appreciated!" he said, before heading out of her office.
"Well that's that done" he smiled to himself.
"What's what?" Zoe appeared behind him.
Max jumped. "Um, just something Connie asked me to do" he replied quickly.
"Okay" she smiled.
Zoe's shift ended, but unbeknownst to her, Max had his plan.
"Er, Zoe, can I have a word with you?" Connie asked the other woman.
Zoe sighed. She was hoping to get straight home to Max. evidently not.
"Fine." She huffed.
Connie had a word with Zoe about some patient reports.
Once the ten minutes was over, Connie let the senior consultant go.
"See you, Happy Valentine's Day." She informed the staff.
"Max, where the heck are you?!" the former Clinical Lead muttered in an annoyed tone. She wanted to get out of the snow which was now falling in thick, fat flakes, and it was sticking.
She texted him, but to no avail.
"Dr Hanna" she whirled around to see Lofty.
"Where's Max?" she asked, not bothering to address him.
"Come with me" Lofty answered.
Zoe decided to obey, she just wanted to get home.
"Max!" she gasped in surprise.
Max was wrapped up in a coat, scarf and hat. Surrounding him was candles, in the shape of a heart.
He was on one knee, holding a black box.
"Zoe Hanna, the perfect love of my life, will you do me the honour of becoming my wife? Please? I'm freezing!" he said.
"Yes! I will!" she ran into his arms, he picked her up and whirled her around.
He set her down and opened the box.
Her ring was beautiful, gold with a silver diamond.
"Happy Valentine's day gorgeous" Max said later on.
"Happy Valentine's Day" Zoe smiled, giving him a kiss.
The End, I hope you have all enjoyed this :-) x
