did he bring all of her happiness along when he died?
Even before the journey began, the stiff look must've been carved for so long. Stony face, he would call it; although the word didn't match that princess skin. Dust, dirt, and sand… but behind them, the heir lies. As how it reflected on herself; cold eyes, thin lips, hardened frown… but behind them, her life lies.
Acting irritated and groaning argumentation for every stupid thing… was that the way her bitter memories hide? Out of the fact of her royal attitude and royal family, her voice just showed that she had once tried… to be just like them. Laughter, maybe… and also the peace and the lack of awareness. Unlabeled retirement from inevitable duty.
Freedom.
If not, why would that frown go away? Why would her lips twitch forcefully?
She put the living scream back into the shadow beneath her outfit. Never had begging eyes hanging under her eyebrows, never asked too much just for a help. Never spoke disagreement as much as how she had a thought that something was wrong, never been as happy as she should, for their victory. Barely shared the story below her palace of frost and thick mirror, barely said goodbye nor hello at the same time.
After two lives with infinite importance were taken away from Ivalice, beyond his low acknowledgement, he assumed that her funeral gown back then had stroke a broken sign onto the earth.
Sign of her heart's leaving…
Along with her ravine's creating.
No more bonds left, only the duty and the related ones, something she pretended was her only pride in her hidden years.
Us, sky pirates, Dalmascan kids, and a former general, we weren't her pride; we weren't included, but only a group passing by and hanging around for a moment.
No, she wasn't hiding. She only didn't want to make them come any closer. Any closer, if they came any closer, she was afraid her belief - that every meaningful life to her wouldn't last for too long - would happen. Believing in a curse of duty, wasn't she the one mistaken and the one who didn't take any choice?
But was that the way she formed bonds with them?
If not, why would she be a queen, why would she scream for a life that she thought was lost instead of cherishing for merry after her ring came back from anonymous sender?
Just see, Ashe. Just see.
Just see that the falling-off of the sky wasn't the sorrow you alone should bear.
