wThis is a new story i'm writing about number 5, the engineer. I hope you like it! and please review. It really gives me drive to write more.

The Engineer

A bullet whizzes by my face. I hear a scream followed by the thump of a body on the floor. I'm hiding under a window in some abandoned house I jumped into when they found us. There were six of us then. There are three, maybe four left now. I peek my head out, but retract it immediately when I hear gunshots. I look around; blood and bodies litter the floor. Two other men with blood on their face are crouched inside the room with me. Bullets constantly ricochet of the house walls. I point my machine gun out the window and blind fire. I hear a grenade explode yards in front of the house. We need to move.

One of the men reached the conclusion as soon as I did, and screams over the noise, "FIVE, WE NEED TO MOVE NOW!"

I nod at them. I crouch right behind the door and tell them to stay behind me. I mentally prepare myself. Then start a mental countdown. 3...2...1

I kick down the door and instincts take over. I don't need to look behind me, I know my teammates. I take off down the street, instantly shooting anything that moves in my field of view. A man pops out in a 2nd story window, and he makes a satisfying thump as he hits the floor. I don't find any satisfaction in the individual kill; I find satisfaction in the fact there is one less enemy to deal with. Bullets whiz by me as I charge farther down the street. One bullet hits me and coats my upper right field of view in red. I dive through a window and wait to hear the sound of one of my teammates jumping through too. Nothing happens. Confused, I peek out the window and look down the street I just ran up. I misjudged, badly. Both my teammates are stuck in the middle of street in a firefight for their lives. One of them is badly injured and is slowly dying.

"NO!" I scream as I see a round object land in front of their feet's. I hit the ground and an explosion sound throughout the street. The instant it's over I scream at the top of my lungs, "HELLLLLLLO?"

Nothing moves, the constant tatter of bullets ends abruptly. The silence is deafening. I look around, the only one left. I don't get nervous; I've been in this spot before. I need to stay calm and remember all the practice I've had. I climb upstairs and wait. One man walks into the street and I take him out with a pinpoint silenced head-shot. Another one walks out a doorway and doesn't get a chance to scream. By my estimation there can only be two left. I turn to leave this house and the end of a barrel points in my face.

"Boom, head-shot" I hear before the gun shoot's. My scream of frustration is cut off by the bang of the gun. The sky goes dark. My sound slowly fades. Everything goes black.

"TRAITORS WIN," appears on the computer screen in bright red letters. I sigh, sometimes I get too into video games. I look at the clock, it says 2 AM.

"I'm gonna call it a night guys," I say in my mic.

"Really Five? But you're our best player. Come on, one more game." Someone says.

"No, I really I need to go to sleep, goodnight."

"G-night"

I shut the computer screen and get ready for bed. I think about Lorien as I slip away into darkness

VERY FIRST CHAPTER.
