Faith

Adama paced in his office. He soon had to give a speech to his beleaguered people. It had been twenty- five yearns since they had fled the colonies and he was tired. In the beginning he had been so certain so sure that the journey would soon be over. He had upon visiting his hoe found the Book Of The Word undamaged in a house that had been leveled. Then he had found the pictures of his family a little charred but useable. He had steeled his resolve to lead his people to safety. The evacuation had been heartbreaking and he was still haunted by the faces of those he had left behind. Yet he had faith that it would all work out in the end that Humanity was going to survive. He had been so certain because surely the Lords would not take his son, his wife and so many others without giving the survivors a hope to and will to survive. They had fled and found a way to Carillon to the hidden fuel depot. There they had learned the extent of Baltar's betrayal and the extent of the darkness that had been stalking them. He shed not a tear for the lose of that world other then for those who had died there over the yearn. He shivered as he considered the evil of the Ovions. Plying innocent humans with wine and song and then using them as food for their offspring. He shuttered at how close his grandson had come to that fate.

They had survived Carillon and moved out into the stars winning a number of battles. They had even found Kobol and proof his faith was not false.

Adama looked out the window and silently prayed. (Please Lord give me a sign.)

He went to his computer and began his log.

"It has been 25 yearns since the destruction of our homes and worlds. A whole generation has been born in space. While many think this is a bad thing it gives me hope. Hope that our people can indeed survive and grow strong once more."

Just then his Com went off.

"Yes what is it Commander Tigh?"

"Sir Alpha Patrol has just reported in sir. Sir you might want to come up here."

"Tigh what is It?" He could tell that the colonel was excited.

"Commander we…. We have found Earth"

Adama was stunned (Faith I can not believe it! Thank you Lords he whispered .) he rose and almost ran to the bridge.

A being stood watching and smiling. Faith, her husband had always has it in such abundance. She was pleased to have been allowed to watch him find his dream.

Faith was believing the impossible and doing your job anyway. Faith was trusting that the Creator had a larger better plan. Adama's Faith had saved humanity and now he was going to see his faith rewarded as he would be one of the first to see The Planet Earth.

Ila watched her husband as joy filled his face. She went to his side and stroked his strong features. Soon her faith would be rewarded because her beloved would join her this night. Once more they would be together. His reward was to see Earth but he would not be allowed to live there. His time was over and the future of the people would rest in other hands. But his faith was rewarded as he watched the Earth come into view and Ila smiled as tears of joy flowed freely from his eyes. In that instant his wavering faith was strong once more the tiredness was gone and he was oddly at peace.
