It's a glorious day to be outside; the sun is shining brightly, and there's a cool breeze dancing across my skin. I'm sitting under the shade of a large tree, with Athrun dozing on the grass beside me.
Athrun…
I turn to see him sleeping peacefully on his back, resting his head on his arms next to my hip. Sunlight that filters through the foliage above us speckle his dark blue hair, giving it a lovely, golden sheen where it hits. I raise my hand, and before I can stop myself, I find myself running my fingers through those night-blue silken locks.
I love the way it flows through my fingers, like water. I see Athrun stir and I remove my hand from his hair and continue looking upwards.
I'm half-asleep; the sun is lovely and it's not too hot, so I naturally doze off. I'm just about to fall into a deeper sleep when I feel a gentle hand running through my hair. It's comfortable and pleasing; I refrain from whining when it stops. I open my eyes to see Kira gazing serenely at the emerald canopy above us. Sitting up, I snake my arms around his waist just as he turns towards me. He lets out a surprised squeak as I pull him closer to me and place a chaste kiss on his lips. "I love it when you do that," I purr to him. "Oh sure," he says, twisting round in my grasp to fully face me, "but you're not the one who will get arm cramp from it later." "Excuses," I chuckled, and run my fingers through his hair. Kira sighs contentedly, resting on my shoulder.
"You'll be doing payback later, Kira."
"Oh, shut up."
