AN: Okay now it's Kartie week (organized by yours truly) and the prompt was little kids. Of course I had to relate it to my story 'Take It All Away' somehow. If you haven't read that story, the basic plot is that Artie and Kurt met in the hospital when they were eight years old and struck up a friendship. This one-shot is set during that time period.

On one of the days that Kurt was visiting Artie, the boys ran out of stuff to do. They had gone through all the toys that Mrs. Abrams had brought for Artie to play with, and they were told that they weren't allowed to try and get Artie into his chair again without an adult to help them.

"Tell me a story," Artie said suddenly. Kurt was sitting next to his bed on one of the hospital chairs. The other boy wrinkled his brow in confusion.

"About what?" he asked.

"About…us!" Artie replied. "Us going on an adventure."

"Okay," Kurt said slowly, trying to come up with something. "All right, I got it!"

"Once upon a time there were two boys named Kurt and Artie who were best friends. They made a pact to try and fight all the bad guys in the world. Like bullies and math teachers. They were very good at it too. Kurt had little knives that he could twirl and throw at people and Artie could use his wheelchair to ram people over. They were the best team ever and always beat the bad guys. They had matching outfits too, that Kurt designed. When the bad guys saw them coming, they would turn and run away cuz they were scared.

Their biggest enemy was a mean bully who liked to shove them into lockers and trip them in the hallway. He was really tall and big and could punch really hard. He was the hardest one to beat. But one day they came up with a plan. The next time they met him, Kurt threw his knives and they stuck his clothes to the wall so he couldn't get away. Then Kurt pushed Artie really hard into the bully and he exploded! Everyone was really happy that they beat the bad guy and they had a parade for them. They kept fighting bad guys after that, but nobody was as hard to beat as the bully."

"That was an awesome story!" Artie said with a big smile when Kurt finished. "It'd be so cool if I could make bullies explode by running into them with my wheelchair."

"Do you have a lot of bullies at your school?" Kurt asked.

"Yeah," Artie replied. "They make fun of my glasses sometimes." He cast a glance over at his wheelchair. "I bet they're going to be really mean about that too. It'll make them easier to pick on me."

"I wish we went to the same school," Kurt said. "I have bullies at my school too. But if it was the two of us, I could push you away really fast!"

"That'd be so cool!" Artie exclaimed.

"Hey, now you tell me a story," Kurt suggested. "How about a different adventure we could have?"

He settled back in the uncomfortable hospital chair as Artie launched into a story involving a building that was hundreds of feet tall and having rocket launchers being built into his wheelchair for a quick getaway.
