Prompt: Just a little one-shot of Billie Dean and Nora getting to be together on Christmas.

I prolong the process of retrieving Nora's gift just to see that adorable little pout of hers. She's so cute when she's being impatient. Nora huffs and fidgets from her spot on the bed. "Can I open my eyes now?"

"No lovely, just one more second." The sweet smell of ginger bread wafts up from the kitchen where the Harmons are celebrating the holidays. I'm grateful that they're occupied so Nora and I can enjoy this rare moment of privacy together. It's hard to be intimate in a house full of ghosts. "Okay darling, open up"

The look on her face is worth every penny I spent on it. Nora delicately reaches out and fingers the thin, intricate silver chain. Her eyes water with unshed tears. "I've never seen something so beautiful." Seeing my love smile makes my chest swell with happiness.

"It matches your eyes." I hold the center sapphire up to Nora's gorgeous, haunted eyes and she giggles like a school girl.

"Put it on me, Billie. I promise I'll never take it off." Moving to clasp the jewelry around her neck I ignore the gaping bullet wound and brush stray strands of hair out of the way.

I kiss the nape of her neck where I know she's most sensitive. "You're absolutely stunning my love."

Nora turns around to face me, a sweat smile is plastered across her lips. "And I love you my angel."

There's a deafening bang but I don't feel any pain. My own blood drips down into my eyes from a bullet wound on my forehead. My fingers shake as I reach up to touch it. So much blood.

Nora is sobbing as she holds me close. "It'll be okay baby. Just close your eyes; and when you open them again I'll still be here." She places the softest of kisses on my now cold lips. My eyes begin to close.

Damn my head hurts like a bitch. I always thought ghosts were immune to physical pain but I guess not. "Nora?" I call out into the empty bedroom. I notice that my blood has been cleaned up and my clothes are good as new.

"Darling?" Nora quickly emerges from the bathroom. "Thank goodness you're back! I was starting to worry." She peppers kisses all over my face. "It's still Christmas Eve dear. You weren't out for more than an hour or two but I missed you terribly."

"Damn Nora, you're a one hell of a shot."

She giggles almost innocently. "Well you said you wanted to be surprised dear. You didn't want to know when your Christmas present was coming so I had to make it count."

"Well you did marvelously." Wrapping my arms around my love we lean back on the bed together. With a snap of my fingers the fire place ignites. "Now we can be together forever."

"Forever."

FIN.
