Not Knowing Quite Why I Am Here

Summary: Damon isn't sure why he is here. He has no choice but to deal with it. Damon's POV Spoilers: Quasar Quest Part 1 and 2

I think the Fates are laughing at me.

Right now, I am hiding in Engineering of the Megaship. Okay, laugh it up. You would be hiding too if you felt as lost and confuse as I am. I close my eyes and listen to the beeps and humming of the ship's engine. I try to calm myself down from the ride I was just on a few hours ago. A day ago, I was doing operation checks on the Megaship and make sure everything was ready for the next group of tourists. The next thing I know is I am flying into portals and saving a world from monsters. The oddest thing was yet to come. I hope you are sitting down for this and not drinking anything.

I pull out a saber from a rock and become the Green Ranger. Yes, folks. You heard me right. I, Damon Henderson, am the Green Ranger and you can stop laughing now.

If you knew me when I was growing up, I was never one of those kids had that dream of being Power Ranger. I was one of those kids that took everything apart and try to put back together again. My mom and pop would encourage me to do so. Of course, I would get tease that nothing was safe in our house while I was around. One of my fondest memories was when I got a radio station from Japan. My sister wasn't fond of my newest accomplishment since some of the parts involved her hairdryer. Even then, I knew what I was going to be when I grew up. I was going to be a fixer, a builder, and most of all, a mechanic.

Right now, I don't know what I am going to do. Everything I thought I knew is gone. The only thing I know is staring at me on the table. The Quasar saber seals my fate. I don't know why fate has chosen me. I am nothing special. I am just mechanic.

"Damon? Are you in there?"

A female voice? I wonder who it is. Maya or Kendrix.

Okay, Damon. It is time to face the music. I may not know quite why I am here but I got a job to do.

The Fates may be laughing now. I want to be the one laughing at the end.
