Flashback to a young Sephiroth, growing up alone with no one to hold him or show him the meaning of love. Until the day he meets Zack.

Return to present day Sephiroth, slowly desending into the crater, still deep in thought.

Flashback to a more recent Sephiroth standing before a group of SOLDIER giving out orders and a proud Zack watching from nearby.

Zack is crying, he can't understand why Sephiroth is breaking up with him and begs him to stay, but Sephiroth turns his back on Zack and walks away. We can see he is sad although Zack cannot.

We flash into Sephiroth's mind and see the horrible struggle he fights between choosing his love for Zack or the will of Jenova.

Return to present day Sephiroth, during his final battle with Cloud.

Sephiroth lies dying at the center of the planet and he realises he made the wrong choice by choosing Jenova over his beloved Zack.
