note: watch the final mix last scene between roxas and axel before reading this
it's a brief scene and this is just a small add on that i felt it should have had (all akuroku fans should at least partially agree)

disclaimer: i don't own kingdom hearts or the character, if i did... this would have been only the beginning between the two

I Have a Heart

The two friends sat together at the top of the tower in twilight town.

Both of them had their lips wrapped around the blue sea salt ice cream that they enjoyed and were licking away the flavour.

They never looked at one another.

The sun was setting and the cold blue ice cream melted in dribbles and coated a black leather glove with its stickiness.

"I'll miss this." Axel spoke softly, his green eyes never turning away from the sunset.

"No you won't." Roxas replied sternly and looked at the popsicle stick in his hand. A frown was on his features as he watched it drop down into the distance below.

"Yea, actually… I will," Axel countered but a smile was on his lips.

He looked away from the setting sun and at his best friend. The smile on his lips widened slightly and an emotion that he shouldn't feel sparked into his eyes. "I'm sorry."

Roxas smiled at his friend and cocked his head. "For what?"

The redhead reached out with his free hand and Roxas felt the brush of a leather glove against his cheek. His smile disappeared and melted into surprise as he eyed his friend curiously.

Then Axel drew closer.

The salty taste from the ice cream could not compare to the tangy taste that entered his mouth along with the cold lips placed against his. The vivid green eyes he had been looking in until now closed and Roxas had no idea what he was supposed to do.

Axel felt a thrill run through his system in a brief flash and when his eyes opened partially he saw a white spark fly away and reflect off of the brilliant blue of his partner's eyes.

Roxas just stared and felt Axel's hand, the one holding the ice cream, reach out for his. Roxas' fingers curled on automatic around the wooden stick. Then the leather from his cheek was gone and that coldness from his lips had disappeared.

Axel had a sheepish grin on his features as white sparks surrounded him. "I think I felt that."

Roxas returned the smile with a faint one from his own lips. "Then you do have a heart."

"And you?"

Roxas just smiled as he saw the white sparks around him as well. For a moment he wondered if Axel felt anything when those sparks surrounded him, but he shook that thought away. "See you, Axel."

The blonde disappeared in a small burst of light.

Axel remained a moment longer. He reached up to his lips and licked off the melted ice cream from his glove before smiling softly to himself. "See ya, partner."

He felt a shudder run through him and then the light burst around him and although his form disappeared and shattered into the white fragments, he felt his being come together once again.

End

This is just because I believe that Axel is the one with the heart, not Roxas… Roxas is the one with the memories of the heart…
