WWE's contract ending with Youtube brings along a bunch of changes. For one, the loss of most of their Youtube shows. None of them are necessarily thrilled about it, but it is what it is. Only a couple of weeks after Zack Ryder's Z!TLIS ends, Dolph is notified that Download will come to an end. He taps the device containing that email against his knuckles and sighs, shaking his head. He'd enjoyed hosting it, mocking various people and things in a way that he hadn't been able to do until Zack had given him time on his show, which encouraged WWE to give him a platform of his own. He's still sitting there, pondering all of this, when...
"Whatcha got there, bro?" Speak of the Long Island devil. He closes his eyes and shakes his head as Ryder leans over his shoulder, staring at the screen. "Ah, you too, huh?" His smirk is audible in his voice and Ziggler fights the impulse to push him away, rolling his eyes as he holds himself back, letting Zack get his fill of the email.
"Are you done yet?" he finally asks when he gets tired of holding onto the small device for so long. Without waiting for an answer, he closes out the mobile browser and pockets the phone, returning to what he'd been doing prior to the alert coming in- lacing up his boots in preparation for his upcoming match. Zack shrugs and moves over to his own things to look through the untouched gear he'd brought, the two sitting in silence for awhile. Something is sticking with Dolph and finally he looks up, blurting it out without really thinking. "With all of the online shows going away, where am I going to be able to talk at?"
As soon as the last word slips out, his mouth clicks shut audibly as he realizes what a stupid, needy thing that is to say- especially to Zack Ryder of all people. Zack, who barely gets any match time, much less promo time! Before he can say or do anything to distract from what he'd just said, Zack looks up at him, an eyebrow raised. He shakes his head, grinning wryly, probably realizing the irony of Dolph saying that to him also, but barely blinks as he returns to his bag. "C'mon, bro. I gave you time on Z!TLIS because I knew if you had the chance, you'd do your Show Off thing and steal the show. And you did, sometimes." He smirks briefly before growing sober. "WWE obviously saw it too, or they wouldn't have given you Download in the first place. Just because it's ending doesn't mean it'll be the end of you getting your voice heard, one way or another."
Through the years of feuding mixing with their friendship, it still surprises Dolph when Zack says things like this, his sincerity bleeding through every word. He swallows and nods, feeling a little jittery. "Sure... yeah. Thanks, Zack."
"Heh. You're welcome, bro," he says, sitting up finally. Their eyes lock and Zack shrugs. "How about after your match, we go have some BLLs and toast the conclusion of our shows?"
He makes a face at the thought of Zack's favorite drink but, running his hands along the leather vest that accompanies his wrestling gear for his entrance, ultimately nods. "Sure, sounds good." Zack's sharp grin, which had become dimmer and rarer since his US title loss almost a year ago, makes it worth it. Almost.
