You have to be kidding me!
I walk to the back of the house to get away from my aunt/uncle/mum/dad. What do I find but there is some other relative in the back garden. I open up the door and say, "We don't smoke back here!"
The man looks up at me and nods while not fully standing upright. His hair is a mess of brown locks and his tweed jacket is dirty. He abruptly stands up straight and while straightening his bow tie says, "Yes, well I don't smoke. Don't like the after taste you know." I raise an eyebrow at him and he asks, "And who are you?"
"Mary Williams." His eyes grow wide and he immediately asks, "Are you Amelia's daughter?"
"No, I'm her niece. Uncle Rory's brother is my dad. And can I ask who are you?"
"Oh, well I'm a family friend!"
"What's your name?"
"John, John Smith. Very nice to meet you Mary!" He takes my hand and shakes it, quite violently I might add.
"Well, would you like to come inside?" I ask the strange man.
"Ohm, well, no. I think I'll just be on my way, but it was very nice to meet you Miss. Williams. Tell your uncle and auntie that the man with a bow tie dropped in for a chat. Thanks again and well, bye!" And with that the man turned on his heel and walked into a police box I hadn't noticed sitting in the corner of the garden. He opens the door wide enough to get in but not a smidge more. I start to ask him what he's doing when he pokes his head out, "Oh, you will want to stay for this bit!" He quickly pulls his head back in and shuts the door. The next thing I hear is a whoring sound then a flash of light and the police box is gone.
Uncle Rory and Aunt Amy come out and Amy asks, "What was that?"
"The man with a bow tie came for a chat." I simply say and walk back inside. I hear my aunt and uncle start asking questions then they come after me and Uncle Rory says, "You have to be kidding me!"
I shake my head and they look at each other, "We better pack." Aunt Amy says. I look at her questioningly and she says, "I'll explain everything later!"
And with that she ran upstairs to pack. My mum, dad and I left a bit later and that weekend they left for somewhere and never returned…
