Inching Through Life
Just a little explanation, since I'm not terribly clear of the details of what happens in the newer mangas. I wanted to base this off of the first season of the anime; where you're not really sure if Angelica died in the last episode or not. This fic assumes that she died from old age.

It's a warm and balmy day at the SWA, like most days here. There are probably only three things that I am going to do today: work in my garden, read books and talk with my friends. For as long as I can remember, it's been this way and nothing else. To tell you the truth, before Ange died, it felt okay. But now, I can't help but to feel like there's something wrong everyday, all the time.
When Triela, Henrietta, Rico or even Petra comes back from some distant place. They have seen things that I will only see printed on photo paper. They talk about eating in fancy restaurants while I doubt I will ever taste anything other than cafe food or my own cooking. They come back with little souvenirs from Firenze, Milano, Venezia, Roma, Napoli, Torino - and I am trapped.
"Hey Triela."
"What's up Claes?"
"Have you ever thought about school?"
"You mean what Hillshire does on Sundays?"
"No, no, like high school or college."
"Huh, I've never really thought about that. But you know, we wouldn't exactly fit in, having to go on missions and all." I stop for a moment, not quite sure how to respond.
"But wouldn't it be fun, choosing and working for what you wanted to be?"
"It sounds like you want to go to college, Claes!" Triela giggles.
"No, I don't."
"Oh no! I'm sorry, Claes but I gotta go. Our flight leaves in an hour." Triela hurries out of the room as she grabs her gun.
Somehow, I knew that she wouldn't understand. She has a purpose and is vibrant and alive. She's not just inching through life, painfully aware of the end.

Thanks for reading everybody. Just trying out some new stuff after the pretty awful Hearsay, so please review.
