Magic runs deep
Deeper than the depths of time
Deep into my life and those around me
From the books of long ago, I read these tales of true magic
Scrolls of ancient writers
Notes of the lives of Mages
Lay scattered all around me as I try the impossible
Today, no true mages are alive
Tricksters perform their 'magic' for the gullible
No true magic is done for them
Someday that will change
Magic and mages shall return
All because of me and those few who still believe in true magic
