Rose laughed as Scorpius finished telling her a story about his family. They were currently in Potions class waiting for Professor Slughorn as he moved slowly across the room.

"Settle down, everyone. Today you will be making amortenia. Now get into pairs and who ever presents the best sample will win something quite amazing." Slughorn chuckled to himself as students began gathering ingredients.

Rose cringed, "Watch out, Scorpius, Amelia might just try to slip you some." She whispered to Scorpius as she noticed Amelia looking a bit too happy while rubbing her hands together gleefully.

Scorpius chuckled as they began pouring ingredients into the cauldron. Rose watched Scorpius, handing him ingredients as he listed them off. She watched as a frown appeared on his face and a few strands of his platinum blonde hair covered his face. He mumbled as he read the directions in his book and began to mix the potion.

"You know, Lysander is said to be really good at potion making, so if you start falling for his antics, I'll assume he's poisoned you."

"He's not interested in me," Rose blushed as she flipped the page of her book, "besides he's dating Samantha. And for the last time, my crush on him only lasted a week! You guys always bring that up, ugh."

Scorpius shrugged but looked at her through the corner of his eyes. "It was cute. You were such a fan girl."

Rose mumbled incoherently before her nose picked up the unmistakable cent of rain. Standing up she sniffed the air and automatically looked at the window. It wasn't raining.

Frowning she looked at the cauldron and realized it was the amortentia. Leaning closer she took a big whiff and and smiled.

"What do you smell?" Scorpius said as he leaned in to smell the potion as well.

Rose was confused, she smelled rain and grass, but the third smell she couldn't quite place it. She knew it from somwhere, it was there in the recesses of her mind. She took another sniff, her eyes went wide, gasping in surprise she covered her mouth. It smelled like that time she and Scorpius had waited under the Quidditch field stands for the rain to stop. That day she had almost been positive Scorpius had tried to kiss her. He had leaned in so close, his hand covering hers while his other hand playfully tugged at her wet hair. Wide eyed, she turned to look at Scorpius.

That third smell. She had smelled it on Scorpius.

It was the cologne she had given him for Christmas.

Rose turned away from Scorpius so he wouldn't see her expression. Why did the potion smell like Scorpius? Blushing, Rose sat down and began looking busy by rummaging in her book bag.

"So what did you smell, Scorpius?" She sounded breathless, she hoped he wouldn't notice. The last thing she needed was to freak Scorpius out.

Scorpius smiled as he bottled the potion in a phial.

"I smell lavender and cinnamon." He replied without glancing in her direction. He left to give Slughorn their potion. Once he was away from Rose, Scorpius sighed and covered his face.

How was he supposed to tell Rose he had smelled her perfume?
