History has a way of repeating itself. It's not anyone's fault, it just happens. Aang, the Avatar during the Fire Nation's reign, ran from his responsibilities and got sucked into an ugly storm, causing him to be frozen in ice for one hundred years.

So when the most recent Avatar, Korra, disappeared with her friends, my grandfather assumed that the same had happened to her. He took it upon himself to find her, without much luck. My father did the same when he turned fifteen, and I did the same when I turned fifteen.

That was a year ago, and I still haven't found her. Along my journey, I've made a few friends that are interested in finding her as well.

Aang, who is named after his great grandfather, is an airbender, and a strong one at that. He's fourteen.

Lavine is an earthbender that ran away from home when he was eight. He's eighteen now and the oldest in our group.

The firebender in our group is called Mai for short. Her great grandmother was Tai Lee, a chi-blocker that was close friends with the evil Firelord's daughter, Azula. She has a pet Goldherst pheasant, which is mutated to carry messages and translate any language. Mai named her Amber.

Kyoshi is the only non-bender. She's been my best friend since we were kids. She is extremely skilled with dual dao swords.

My name is Habis, and I'm a waterbender. I have a pet Ocigal, which is a mixture of several cats into one animal. It has excellent hearing, and is fiercely protective, despite its small size. I call him Dagger.

All of us are the best fighters from our cities. But that didn't mean that we were invincible.
