Krys' Adventures
Chapter One
Krys walked through the big doors. Gallagher Academy was a huge, old building, and it seemed like she would never make it to classes on time! She was in 7th grade, and lived in busy and crowded uptown New York, so a castle sized school would be overwhelming. "Well, I think I'm ready", she said to herself. A teacher was in the grand hall telling all the new 7th graders where their rooms were. " You will be in room 359", she told Krys once she'd seen her information sheet. The teacher pointed in a direction that led to the right, up two big staircases, and then on the left. As Krys walked to her room, she was worried. "I've never shared a room with anyone before", she thought. "What if they don't like me?" But that thought went away as soon as the door opened to the room.
When Krys stared at her, a girl with brown hair and blue eyes like hers smiled widely and told her to come in. "Hi, I'm Gracie!" she exclaimed. "This is our room. I'm the only one here so far, so you can take any of the other beds. What's your name, by the way?" "I'm Krys, Krys Turner.
Krys loved her new dorm. The room was clean and neat, like no one had ever stayed in it before. All four beds had half aqua half white bedspreads, and the walls were painted a lime green. But, Gracie and Krys both agreed it was to plain, and they personalized it while waiting for the other room mates to arrive. By the time they were done, posters and paintings gave the room a nice touch, the beds were pushed against the wall, and they had their own lounging area in the far corner that had a bookshelf, laptop, desk, chairs, table, and couch. As well as having fun decorating, the others arrived. Kat, a girl who was tall and athletic with dirty blonde hair, and Jae, a braniac and tech lover with black hair and glasses both really liked the new room and their room mates. "Let's go get some dinner together," Kat told the others at six o'clock. "Yeah, I'm getting hungry," replied Gracie.
When they walked down stairs, the smell of soup and bread was coming from the eating hall. When they sat down to eat, four other girls came up behind them. "Mind if we join you?" said one with strawberry blonde hair. "Not at all!" replied Kat. Then the girl and her friends sat down across from the others. She introduced herself as Emma, and her friends as Izz, Ayden, and her twin sister Katie. "Actually, we have the room right next to yours," Katie told Krys and her friends. All four of them talked about their summer breaks, and where they've been. Emma and Katie, who lived with their parents in Cincinnati, went to New York. Jae and her brothers traveled around the world with their spy parents. Ayden and her brothers just hung out at home. Kat went on missions with her parents, who were spies for the CIA, and Gracie went to Canada with her family. Krys told them about her and her siblings and her spy parents, who all went on a trip to Rome. All the adventures they had could last them hours to talk about!
As they walked to their rooms to get some rest before the first day of school, Krys couldn't help but think the year was going to be a great one.
