So I entered a weekly (every saturday) speed-ficcing on the TFF, with a duration of 4 hours to do up a fic.
I did a Haruhi fic. ^_^;
Copyrights : Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya belongs to Nagaru Tanigawa (writer) and Noizi Ito (illustrator)
Title : Mortal Kombat?
Alternatively : The maid who roared.
Theme : One shall stand, one shall fall.
It all comes down to this. Your opponent is in front of you. You need to defeat him, he needs to defeat you. Both of you cannot retreat from this battle. Is it personal? Is it for glory? It doesn't matter anymore. Only one will walk away victorious. Your challenge, for the next 4 hours, is about a showdown. You can write what leads to it. It can be the fight itself. It can be the aftermath. It can be 1 on 1. It can be many against 1. It can be many vs many. But this is a battle both sides don't want to lose. Cannot afford to lose.
Contest Start time : 2:30 PM PST

"KO! Mikuru wins!"
While normally, I would be amazed at the outcome of the battle, the challenge was in such a way that luck would determine who was left standing. Given that both Haruhi and Aasahina-san were both, inept would be too kind a word for their skills at using a computer, I really shouldn't be too surprised at the confused and yet oh so delightful sounds of Aasahina-san's cheering at her win against Haruhi.
The look of disbelief on Haruhi's face was like a welcoming breeze in her normal confidence. Why the only time I've seen that look, I can count on the fingers of my hand.
But perhaps, it might not be good for the world if this keeps up.
I give a discreet look at Itsuki... only to find him quite missing.
Wait! When did he disappear?
The coward! Leaving me alone to defuse Haruhi's potential wrath.
"Again!" The look of resolute concentration on Haruhi's face worries me, perhaps... Nagato-san would be of some help?
I gaze at the quiet data entity interface who was quite focussed on her laptop. The bunny ear-phones... oh dear, was Nagato-san playing one of her... eroge games again? Perhaps, it's best that I don't distract her. Who knows what I might discover in her game.
As I turn to look at the dueling pair... I discover that it was too late.
"KO! Mikuru wins!"
Oh dear... this could not end well, given the look of dismay on Haruhi's face. Perhaps, she will conced that the angel Aasihina-san has the luck of the heavens backing her now? Before the world is destroyed by her outrage at yet another loss?
"Again! Mikuru-chan! I refuse to admit defeat! And to make it more interesting! The winner shall be the leader of the SOS-dan for tomorrow!"
Oh Haruhi, what are you doing? Please decline her wager, Aashina-san. It'll be for the better of humanity that the world continues to exist to the next day.
"A... anou?" And... there goes the hope of humanity as the naive angel of the future, Aashina-san, accidentally taps the keyboard and starts a new match.
I... I can not bear to watch the resulting combat... merely await the calamity that is to come. Perhaps, this is Haruhi's secret desire... to make up for all those times she's abused Aashina-san?
"KO! Mikuru wins! Flawless Victory!"
Disbelief blends to dismay and then... horror. I suspect that I should have gotten a camera for this. Those looks are alien to Haruhi.
"V... very well, Mikuru-chan... a bet is a bet. But don't imagine that I won't let this defeat go that easily."
Oh Haruhi... why can I imagine you now forcing yourself into Mikuru's maid outfit and trying to serve us tea...
Owari?
