Eternity

This is a short poem about Davy Jones and his one lost lover. I do not own Pirates of the Caribbean and all its characters, and story line, although I wish I did. If you read this poem and listen to Davy Jones on then it really fits! Enjoy!

Once there was a great love,

A woman and a pirate met and fell in love,

The pirate had felt things that he had never felt for any other woman,

He loved her so deeply that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her,

He would leave his crew, his name, and give his all to her.

And when he asked her to stay and marry him, it should have been the happiest day of their lives,

But she was as changing as the sea,

And just like the sea is unpredictable and cruel,

She refused his love and left him.

The pirate filled with hate, despair, pain and loss was unable to take hold of his broken heart,

So he did what he thought he could to get rid of the pain and memory of love forever,

He cut out his heart, and placed it into a chest, where it was to remain hidden from the world.

The cost of his broken heart was the cost of many lives and loves alike,

His heart remains cold and hard to women and love,

Yet a part of him cannot lose the thoughts and touches of his long gone love.

At night when he is alone at sea, and he is not reeking havoc, music fills the air,

Music with a powerful and sad tale of loss and betrayal,

And yet his feelings remain, for he is a lost soul,

And lost souls are lost,

For eternity.
