Author's Note: I'm sorry if it's too short, but this story was based on a
request by my friend Richie, who likes TOS. Please R & R.

Entering the bridge, Captain Kirk paused to momentarily take in the view. Spock, his Vulcan friend and Executive Officer, sat in the command chair. Various consoles beeped and blinked softly against their bland metal frames. Most of the bridge crew were already on duty. Kirk would have been here earlier, but Bones, that's Dr. McCoy, stopped him in the corridor a few decks down after breakfast.
On the viewscreen was a brilliant view of Earth. They had stayed here for a week, picking up new parts and new crew to start on another 5 year run together. Only minor roster adjustments had been made; all his bridge crew had remained onboard.
That week had been a good time to get off the ship and have a little R&R on the surface. Spock, of course, didn't really have anywhere to go. Those seven days had been very restful compared to what the great ship was used to.
Now, the ship was prepped and ready to leave orbit to their next mission.
"Lt. Chekov, are we ready to depart?" Kirk asked his helmsman.
"Yes, sir, Ve are veady to depart", He replied.
"Take her out, slow and steady. Once we are clear, Warp 3", Jim commanded.
"Aye, sir", Chekov acknowledged.
Feeling the ship linger before it moved forward slowly, he smiled. Soon, it jumped to warp speed. They were on their way to their next mission.
