Grover placed his hand on the tree stump that was his girlfriend's home and life-force as his salty tears mixed with the rain. "Why… Why did you let this happen Pan!? Why take her and not me!?" He screamed to the heavens but was only met with rain clouds and animals running away.
-A Day Earlier-
"I promise Juniper, I'll be at your tree when I return to camp, first thing. Say hi to Percy and the other Seven for me will you? S-Stop calling me your little goat, you sound like my mother, yes that was a compliant, I love you too." He said swiping his hand through the Iris message blushing bright red. "Dryads" he thought as he headed to class where he smelt the stench of a monster and the demigod he was sent to protect.
Ever since the two camps stopped their millennium quarrel, Styr and Fawns have been working together. "Class sit down, hell has started" the teacher said, earning a few laughs. 50 minutes later the teacher was holding a snake in a box that was under her desk. "Please come one by one as you exit the classroom if you want to pet the snake" she asked as the snake slithered across her arms.
John, the demigod, and Grover were the last ones in line. "Wait a minute you two, I have a surprise for you." She said as she locked the door with her lower body began to merge with the snakes, John was terrified by what he saw, as he stood frozen in fear. "I'm going to enjoy eating a Styr and a demigod, I haven't had demigod since… Davy Crockett tried to kill me." The lamia said hissing as Grover brought out his pan flute and began playing.
She was about to wrap John in her tail but screeched as the music flooded her ears. "Graahhh!" The Lamia hissed in pain as she slithered outside with students screaming in terror. John, now out of his frozen state asked Grover "What was that thing, why did it call me a demigod, and why was it trying to kill us?"
Grover pulled the teen into a run as he answered his questions. "Wait, so all those myths are true?" He asked as they caught their breath, Grover nodded. Pretty soon they made it to Camp Half-Blood without any other things going wrong, until Grover walked into the forest to meet with his girlfriend.
-Present Day-
Grover cried until he couldn't cry anymore tears, so he curled up beside the tree stump thinking back to all the sweet times they spent together. "Juniper, I… I'm sorry I wasn't here to protect you" he said as he kissed the tree, feeling the rain hit his skin felt good. "Grover, are you alright?" Hedge asked with Mellie beside him as he stood up and looked at them.
"Do I look alright, you battle nutcase?! My girlfriend is dead! I couldn't do a single thing to stop it!" Grover yelled, kicking up dirt and stomping on flowers as the couple watched as his tantrum ended as he fell to his knees as he cried and looked at the stomped flowers. "Juniper…" His voice croaked as he sat there, crying until he couldn't cry anymore.
