A/N: So, this is a conversation that my mother and I just randomly had one day, and I wondered about what Snape's reaction to it would be. I don't know why, it just popped into my head. So, I decided to write it down.
Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter; if you sue me all you would get is some pocket lint, as this is all I own, so is there really any point in suing me?
Cheese
The class was brining their finished, and probably dismal, potion assignments to the front of the class, where Severus Snape stood, surveying the colors of the potions inside the bottles. Today's was supposed to be a deep crimson; instead, many seemed to be tinged pink. The Longbottom boy's was bright blue-no surprise there.
And of course, the Golden Trio was last to bring theirs forth. He heard the Granger girl explaining something to the other two; Potter's face seemed disgusted at something.
"…it's essentially just really old, solidified, bacterial milk," she said in her usual matter-of-fact tone.
"Hermione, please don't ruin cheese for me, I like cheese," Potter spoke. That was what he was disgusted at? They were talking about cheese? The Amazing Boy Who Lived, destine to save all Wizarding kind, was discussing cheese with his friends…
"Ron isn't disgusted by it. Are you, Ron?" the girl asked.
"Ron doesn't count, he'll eat Neville's dirty socks if you put marinara sauce on them," Potter pointed out.
"Hey!" came Weasley's indignant reply.
"Oh, shut up, Ron, you know it's true. But it's a fascinating process, really. First…." And as Granger proceeded to explain how cheese came to be, Potter covered his ear, saying loudly, "LA LA LA LA LA!!!!" And the three left his class room.
It was then that Severus decided the world was doomed.
