AN: Prompt number 24 - "video games". No real pairing in this one - they're all just friends.

Axel flung down the controller angrily. He'd always had a volatile temper, but losing to Sora was just ridiculous. It must have been beginner's luck, since Sora didn't even own a games console of any description. The boy was too busy playing at the beach to bother with one. So, why did he win? On Axel's favourite game, of all things.

Roxas peered over Axel's shoulder at the screen in disbelief. "How did you lose?"

Axel shrugged. "I want a rematch."

Sora, on the other hand, couldn't stop smiling. "I just pressed a few buttons like you told me to, and his character went splat."

All three of them stared at the screen once more, where the final moments of the match were being replayed. Sora was right – Axel's character had been well and truly beaten up – hitting the wall, then the floor, and then the wall again, before being knocked out. If Axel wasn't so annoyed, and didn't take the game quite so seriously, the situation would have been incredibly funny.

Glaring, Axel retrieved his controller. "Prepare to die, keyblade boy."

Sora smiled, preparing to fight back. He'd won one round, he could win another. Shaking his head at their stubbornness, Roxas quietly left the room. It was best (by that, he meant safest) to leave them to it for the time being. Maybe Kairi could talk some sense into Sora, so this ridiculous game could come to an end. Yes, that was an idea; he'd go and see Kairi, before the real Sora was the one going splat.
