My Lord
'We can not watch the one we love take another'

No one realized just how much pain she felt everyday. She watched them with the ones that they loved and she felt her heart tighten everyday she saw someone in love. She wanted the love that others felt deep within them, but the only man she could ever love was her Lord Sesshomaru and he was promised to another.

She was beautiful. Her long silken blonde hair. Dark and deep blue eyes that outshone the waters of the bluest sea's. Her thin body moved just like the rich silk she wore. She has the beauty I could never hold eve in my wildest dreams. Her name was Luna.
Moon
How fitting to a demon with a blue moon on his forehead. You are two of a pair.
As you stand in the crowed room only meant for demons and take her hand, I stand on the rocky edge of a cliff watching the sea water crash against the rocks. The sound of the waves make me relaxe, but my heart still aches for you.
A loud cheer is heard from behind me. Happy wishes from the ones that wish for this mating to happen.I let my head fall from the high position that I have been taught over the years to hold. My tears run down my face and soak the ground. My foot goes to the edge of the cliff, teasing as if I wish to go over.
"Rin," I turn and see silver hair and amber eyes for a second I think its you to come rescue me, but it is not you. It's Inuyasha your bastered half-brother.
"Yes," my voice is so full of sadness and longing fpr him.
"Come inside their about to eat and have the dance," I look out over the sea and see the moon shimmering over the rippling water.
"Okay," I say and turn to go with him.
Once inside they have the first dance as mate's. His long silver hair flowing around him likewater. Her blonde hair matches his silver in the dance. Then they eat.
Tradition says the mates must feed each other a bit of their food and a sip of their sake drinks. I have to look away as they do this.
I pick at my food not eating but a few bites.
Much to my relief the night ends for me when the moon starts to fall from the sky. Inuyasha and Kagome walk me back to my room and bid me good night. Kagome hugs me and whisperers in my ear,
"Don't worry everything will be alright," she kisses my check and they go away.
For hours I sit on my bed watching the moon fall and the sound of the party going on in another part of the palace. I feel my heart brake. The only one I could ever love belongs to another and I can do nothing to ease this ache in my heart and body. My hands tremble in my lap as my eyes over runwith tears. I sit there letting the tears fall intill I can cry no more.
The door slides open and light footsteps come in, shutting the door behind him. The bed dips with his weight.
"Rin," his voice is like air to lungs that need it.
"My Lord," I whisper.
"You'll be leaving with Inuyasha and Kagome this afternoon."
"Yes My Lord," his weight leaves the bed and my door opens and close one last time. I knew this would be coming.
Luna did not like humans and for some reason me more than others.
I fish a vial of a liquid poison from under my bed. The clear liquid could easily be passed as water. I wrap my finger around the cork stopper and pry it open. An acidic smell fills my nose.
I throw my head back and let the poison flow into my mouth and I swallow every last drop. The glass vial falls from my hand as the poison works its way through my veins.
I fall back and lay on my bed, my face still looking out into the early morning. I watch as the moon disappears and the sun takes its place.
I smile one last time.
My thought clouded and fading fast. I think about the letter on my dresser. It explains it all. My love for My Lord. My broken heart. How the palace is my home. Its all there, everything they need to know about why.
I drift away. My last thoughts are of My Lord Sesshomaru. How as a child he would deal with my questions about everything. How sometimes deep at night when I could not sleep he would allow me to lay on his white dog fur boa with him. How he would throwstones at Jaken for being a stupid toad.
I feel gentle hands on my body. I open my eyes and catch his amber eyes looking into mine own chocolate ones.
"My Lord."
"Rin," and I am gone from the world of the living and into the realm of the dead.
