A/N: I am tired of vampire stories, but I figured I would give it a small shot.

Blood Work

Ryou had thought his new job was a good deal. The job was simple. For free room, food, and bonus payment, all he had to do was take care of the cleaning, stock on blood, and pretend to be part of normal family, so that a vampire could blend in with the neighbors at an apartment complex. Ryou was free to do whatever he pleased in the apartment while it was day, but he was strictly never to interfere or talk with his charge at night. In fact, he was secluded to his room at 8 o'clock.

However, it was lonely. The apartment was quiet during the day and he was alone at night. Ryou grew curious who he was working for. So one night he spied on his charge, Bakura and was caught. Not wanting to lose his job, Bakura blackmailed him into joining him in his night life. Ryou could only play along and hope that Bakura wouldn't tell his boss and eventually leave him alone. But so far he hadn't. Ryou carefully juggled his day work and nights out with Bakura. However, it was getting harder and harder with Bakura keeping him out later and later. Tonight Ryou thought he wouldn't make it back home as he felt Bakura cool breath touch his ear.

The creature of the night had let out a sigh pleasure after he inhaled the scent of Ryou skin. He whispered something in his ear, but Ryou was too tensed to pay attention. He could only acknowledge feeling the ruff brick wall he was pressed up against and a deep feeling of dread spreading down his body.

Bakura had made advances before, and Ryou had kept him away. It had not been easy because Bakura was extremely flirtatious and forward with anything that had a pulse. He was especially attracted to the fragrance of Ryou's blood.

This was it. This job was going to kill him. Bakura was going to eat him. He was going to die, and when company found out, he would be fired.

Bakura slowly leaned down, and bit into Ryou neck. Ryou let out a choked gasp and shut his eyes in pain. He wanted to scream, but he couldn't figure out how to breathe, so he held his breathe. Suddenly Bakura let him go and he slid to the ground clutching his bleeding neck, and tried to minimize the blood flow. At first all he could feel was this throbbing pain pulsing from his neck, but slowly he got used to pain and wondered why he wasn't dead and what happened to Bakura?

Ryou opened his eyes and saw something that made him briefly forget he was in pain.

Bakura was kneeling on the ground eating handfuls of grass and dirt with tears in his eyes.

Apparently his blood was the vilest tasting thing that Bakura ever tasted. His blood smelled sweet, but was bitter like a bar of soap. Ryou almost laughed at the sight, but he felt another twinge of pain in his neck.

Well, maybe he wasn't going to die tonight, but he was most definitely going to be fired.
