A rush of footsteps outside indicated that the elves were running towards his door. They had to stand on each other to reach the doorknob, but they managed to get in. "Santa!" they squeaked. "It's almost time!"

"Calm down, all of you," Santa ordered.
The three elves quickly shut their mouths. Knock still bounced up and down with excitement.
Santa turned to the snow-covered window and whispered, "This Halloween, I'll get my revenge."
