It was just before dawn and Applejack was waiting patiently from the top of the hill. She was very excited because soon, it would be time. Time for her to start working! Finally! Granny Smith had let her do the apple-bucking all by herself. She'd never been allowed to do that before! Just the thought of it made Applejack sigh happily. This. Was. Going. To. Be. FUN! Applejack chuckled to herself as she waited for the sun. "Any minute now," she whispered. Finally, the first rays of the sun rose up out of the trees. "Yee-haw! It's officially apple-bucking day!" she shouted. Applejack eagerly ran to a tree and kicked it. Lots of apples fell down around her in slow motion with a smiling Applejack in the middle. She caught an apple in her hooves and sniffed it. "Ahhh. Nothing I like better than a sweet-smelling apple on a beautiful spring's day." Applejack sighed as she picked up the buckets and moved to the next tree. When she kicked it, a rotten apple fell on her head. "Ouch!" she cried. "What in tarnation? They're back!"
