Quitting the Habit

"Itsuki..." Kaname said quietly as the cigarette smoke fluttered around him.

"I know, I know." Itsuki muttered glancing at he's friend. "My last one, I swear. Just every since Haruna started dating that guy..." he trailed off scowling lightly.

Kaname sighed softly as he watched Itsuki flick the rest of his cigarette away. Sometimes, Kaname, wished he could help ease his worries over his sister. Speaking as a younger sibling, he could have easily told him the urge to protect his sister from slime would never go away. Maybe I should do it now, he mused as Itsuki seemed ready to take up chain smoking.

"Itsuki...: Kaname warned again a slight frowning marring his face.

"So I lied. Just let me die of lung cancer. At least then I won't have to see them kissing at every second of every night." Itsuki said darkly as he put his lighter away.

Feeling more than a little exasperated, Kaname walked across the roof to stand next to Itsuki. With a dark amusement that seemed to have been left over from Bael, Kaname noticed Itsuki move away a few centimeters. Without giving Itsuki any warning, Kaname rummaged through Itsuki's pockets until he came out with a lighter. Not hesitating in the slightest, Kaname slipped the lighter into his own pocket.

"Kaname..." Itsuki protested around his cigarette with a light blush.

"Your promised you would quit." Kaname responded simply.

"Maybe if I had something else to do when I get so stressed..." Itsuki said trailing off as he flicked off more ash.

"Hmm, how about a sport?" Kaname asked knowing the answer before it came.

"Too busy with work."

"Studying?"

"Not worth it."

"Helping Mana?"

"Isshin is all over her."

"Think of away to get rid of that guy Haruna is seeing."

"Leads to stressful thoughts which lead to me craving a smoke." Itsuki said grinning at Kaname, knowing how frustrated his friend was.

"Maybe a new addiction? Chocolate? It's supposed to be good for you." Kaname said mentally wishing he could teach his friend not to be so picky.

When did he got so possessive of Itsuki?

Oh, well to the matter at hand.

"Yeah, a new addiction. I like the sound of that. But can't be just anything. It can't cost too much that I'll end up broke and it's got to have the right taste. Can you think of anything?" Itsuki asked as he through his last cigarette (until he found another spark somewhere) to the wind.

Kaname slowly tilted his head one way and stared at Itsuki for a moment before shaking his head no. "But I might have an idea." he said softly, his eyes glinting oddly.

Crossing the little distance between the two of them, Kaname gently pressed his lips against the other boy's.

All at once Itsuki felt his world shift. Everything was stopping and speeding at the same time. He felt as if he was on a drug and the feeling only escalated once he felt Kaname slip his tongue in his mouth. The delirious feeling he had been feeling before intensified as the kiss deepened. But alas, even a E.G.O agent needed air.

Breaking apart, Kaname help Itsuki to his chest. Which Itsuki was grateful for. His knees seemed to have weakened out on him and his head was swimming. Dimly, he wondered if this what being drunk felt like.

"Good replacement to you?" Kaname asked softly, amusement laced into his voice.

Slowly, Itsuki nodded before capturing the other's lips again. He really liked this better than smoking. For many reason but the most important...Kaname didn't cost anything.

The reason for this is I was so freakin' happy yesterday! I found out I got into Honors English! And since homewrok is dwindling down, I will take any request anyone might have! But I wouldn't expect it the next day I still have Math finals and Science Finals.
