Prompt-Young Alexis and Rick are racing carts in the supermarket and Rick manages to crush into Kate.
I changed the prompt a little.
"Bye baby girl" Wendy said picking up her six year old. "Look after your Uncle" She whispered in her ear.
"Okay mama" she whispered back in her ear.
Wendy placed Alexis back on the ground.
"She will be fine with me" Rick resured his sister. "I'll be the best babysitter"
"You will guard her with your life"
"Scouts honour"
Wendy rolled her eyes at her older bother. "You were never in the scouts"
"I went to a scouts camp"
"You got kicked out on the first night for setting the camp on fire"
"There was a snake and I didn't see that log there"
Wendy's flight was called. Alexis walked over and hugged her mothers leg. "Take me mama"
"I can't baby girl I'm sorry" Alexis moved back to her Uncle and played with the sleeves of his jacket as he said goodbye to his sister.
"Can we go" Alexis whined.
"Why aren't you having fun?"
"No" Alexis shook her head.
"I have a idea"
Rick goes back to the front of the store to get a mini trolley for Alexis.
"What are we doing?" Alexis asked.
"Trolley racing"
"I love having races"
They were going so fast and so much fun that he didn't notice the person he had knocked over.
Rick realised that he had knocked over a tall brunette woman he ran over to the person.
"Oh my god are you okay?" Rick asked she was the most breath taking woman he had ever seen.
"I'm fine thanks" she sat up holding her head.
"Hey Kate you okay?" A tall man with dark hair and leather jacket and pants came around the corner.
"What are you following me now" She snapped at the man.
"Is this guy bothering you?" Rick asked.
"Yes he has been since high school and nothing is still going to happen so get lost Josh"
"Kate your head is bleeding you need a doctor"
"What I need is for you to leave me alone"
"Alright fine" the man stormed off.
"So besides your head are you okay"
"My ankle hurts really bad"
"No wonder in those heels" He tried to make a joke she laughed a little.
"Do you want me to drive you to your place"
"Yeah sure"
"Alexis rain check on shopping"
"Rain?" Alexis looked at the roof. "Where"
The two adults laughed as Alexis searched for rain.
"So what's your name?" Rick asked helping her up.
"Kate,yours?"
"Rick,"
"Kate I'm not leaving you here"
"My roommate will be home soon,"
"You sure"
"Yeah there she is now"
Kate said pointing to a lady walking up the hallway.
"Your Kate's roommate" Rick asked.
"Yes, is she okay"
"I was doing trolley racing with my niece and I knocked her over"
"Oh well Kate let's get you inside," Lanie helped Kate up.
"Wait before you go inside, could I take you out for dinner or something? It's the last I could do"
"Really your using that pick up line?" Lanie said rolling her eyes.
"Yes I would love that,"
Rick and Kate got lost in each other's eyes.
"Sometime today could you two exchange numbers some of us have a date in a hour," Lanie snapped making Rick jump.
"Um could I use a notepad inside" Rick asked.
"Make it quick" Lanie said opening the door.
Rick wrote his number down on a notepad.
"Well I'll see you later Kate and I'm sorry"
"Looking forward to it Rick"
Rick walked out with Alexis with a big grin on his face.
