Cobalt Skies, Book 1: Almost Picture Perfect.

Prologue

I have a picture. It's old, tinted yellow with time, and the edges are curled, but it's my favorite. In this picture, two people grin out at you, happiness filling their faces, and neither of their smiles is even close to fake.

The young man in the picture wears a tall, black, pointed hat that has an enormous buckle on the front, and the top of a tattered, black, button up vest can be seen. He has a fair complexion, a pair of long, pointed ears, and a smile that reaches from one to the other. His ponytail of long, black hair pokes out from his hat, trailing down between the tops of two large bat wings the protrude from his back, and his deep purple eyes are focused intently on the camera, showing just how happy he really is.

In his arms is a significantly shorter young woman with long black hair that is stick straight till suddenly it curls at the ends, which reach down past the view of the camera, and on top of her head sits a pair of soft black fox ears that are tipped with silver. She is slightly more pale than he, but her cheeks are tinted a rosy pink. Her eyes are cobalt blue and almost as stunning as the smile that graces her features.

Together they stand against a sunset background, and not just any sunset, a Makai sunset. They look like the happiest couple you could ever meet, and at a time, they probably were. But you see, I know their story, and it is a love story like no other. I can garauntee you that. Do you know why I know this? Well, here's a hint:

I have cobalt blue eyes.

Ok. I know. I –never- update my stories. But I promise. This time I will. Pinky swear. And once I get done with this story, I'll finish Rhythm. Sorry if that was the story you were looking forward to, but just give me awhile and I'll finish. I promise.

No flames, please!
