I lay on a beanbag in the room we'd dubbed 'the studio' on the third floor of the Shay's apartment.
When Carly ran in, clearly excited about something.
"What's got you all excited?" I asked with a half smile.
"Me and Griffin just got back together!" She squealed excitedly, looking at me expectantly.
"You got back together with him?" I asked. "Why? I thought you thought he was a loser? What, with his pee-wee babies an' all."
"I did," She said. "But I need a pretty boyfriend! So I figured I could pretend to like his little toys..." She trailed off and I stared at her.
"That's a little shallow don't you think? And I mean, that's coming from me.."
"No!" She began to get angry.
"C'mon Carly, you shouldn't settle, you can do way better!" I reasoned.
"I'm not settling for anyone! And what about you!?" She threw back, angry now.
"Well, what about me?" I asked.
"You changed everything about you for Pete!"
"What has that got to do with anything?" I asked angry now. "And why are you getting all chizzed off and offended by this?!"
"I'm just saying, if you can pretend to be someone you're not, and change everything about you, to get a guy to like you, why can't I pretend to get a guy to like me by pretending to like something I don't?" She asked, spitting her words at me.
"I changed my clothes! Not everything about me!"
"Well, maybe you should have, because he dumped you after like, a week!" She bit out, nastily.
"It was longer than a week and you know it! And why are you being so mean all of a sudden?" I asked, blinking back tears of anger.
"Because I will not have you judging me! You don't know anything Sam, you've had like, two boyfriends, and you think you know all about love, you're always judging me, but you don't know anything!" She was screeching at this point, her eyes glassy with angry tears.
Upon hearing this, I ran out, slamming the door behind me as my tears began to fall freely. I ran out of the apartment slamming the front door and shrinking down against it, I sat hugging my legs against my chest and cried, my face pressed in to my knees, how did this happen? A few minutes later the door to apartment 8D opened and a wide-eyed Fredward Benson walked out. Timidly, he walked towards me, stopping before me, and hovering over me. "Sam?" He asked, his voice sounded surprised, and slightly anxious.
"What is it Frenub?" I asked through gritted teeth.
"What's wrong?" He asked, sliding down next to me, but still keeping his distance.
"Me and Carly had a fight." I mumbled angrily.
He shifted closer, so our arms were touching.
"What was the fight about?" He asked.
"Boys," I answered, "...it was stupid, it wasn't worth a fight."
"Well hey, I'm sure you guys can work it out tomorrow, you're bestfriend's, boys won't change that," he said. "But, for now, do you wanna come in and play call of duty? My mom's working, so I have all night to kick your butt." He smirked.
"Yeah right!" I laughed, "I'll be the one doing the butt kicking!" I said grinning.
"You wish Puckett!" Freddie laughed.
"Oh, you're on!" I said. "And Freddie?" I asked gently.
"Yeah?" He asked lightly.
"Thanks," I smiled gently, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek, causing him to freeze and blush furiously.
"Now for the video games," I said, "Be prepared to lose Benson!" I laughed running in to his apartment, leaving Freddie, frozen and wide-eyed in the hallway.
