They were far from perfect, she knew that.

They were like magnets sometimes, completely repelling each other until one of them turned the other way. He had an uncanny ability to do exactly the wrong thing at the wrong time. But more often than not, he did exactly the right thing. On her most stressful days it only took that one thing to get her laughing so hard it hurt. The way he would hold their children, the same way he would hold her, like they were the most precious things and he couldn't believe he had the luck to be a part of them. His habit of leaving socks bunched up underneath the duvet, but he would always make the bed.

Theoretically there were people to which she would be better suited. But where was the fun in that? She spent most of her life immersed in books and the best love stories, the most fulfilling, didn't happen between the perfectly suited people.

She was fond of Ron as a child, despite his immaturity and that fondness developed into an infatuation that she could never quite shake. She fancied the teenager but as in every good story he developed, changing them both along the way, and her absolutely loved the man he had become.

She needed him and he needed her, to balance each other. When she would get too caught up in the details to see the bigger picture he was there to guide her. She liked to imagine that their life was a lot like their first true adventure. The boys caught up in devils snare and her panicking, wracking her brains for an answer. And Ron, her beloved Ronald, showing her that it more simple than she could have thought.

Life is too short to do what is comfortable, to live a life of perfect blandness. Life was passion, and her fiery husband gave her just that. She could have settled for contentedness but she chose the whirlwind.

They were far from perfect, but that was what made them just right. She would know, she is the smartest witch of her age after all.

AN: My response to the drama lately. I've always loved R/Hr because of their non-perfection. That was always felt right to me.
