A Lonely Hero
Severus Snape walked out into a decorated cemetery full of flowers and gravestones. Passing by the many decorated, adorned gravestones, he stops by a dirty undecorated simple polished gravestone. Brushing away the leaves and dirt, he places a single flower, a white rose, beside the grave. Kneeling by the grave, he brushes back tears. Fate could have been crueler to a sweeter boy. He softly starts hum then sing one of the boy's favorite songs. As he sings, he weeps at the similarity of the boy and the girl in the song. Adding words of his own, he pays respect to a forgotten war hero.
He walks to school with the lunch he packed,
Nobody knows what he's holdin back,
Wearin the same robe he wore yesterday,
He hides the bruises with a linen and lace ohhh,
The servants wonder but they don't ask,
It's hard to see the pain behind the mask,
Bearin' the burden of a secret storm,
Sometimes he wishes he was never born,
Through the wind and the rain he stands hard as a stone,
In a world that he can't rise above,
But his dreams give him wings and he flies to a place where he's loved,
Concrete angel,
Somebody cries in the middle of the night,
The house elves hear but they turn out the light,
A fragile soul caught in the hands of fate,
When mornin' comes it'll be too late,
Through the wind and the rain he stands hard as a stone,
In a world that he can't rise above,
But his dreams give him wings and he flies to a place where he's loved
Concrete angel
A statue stands in a shaded place,
An angel boy with an upturned face,
His name is written on a polished rock,
A broken heart that the world forgot,
Through the wind and the rain he stands hard as a stone,
In a world that he can't rise above
But his dreams give him wings and he flies to a place where he's loved,
Concrete angel
He wanders the halls with a ice cold mask
Nobody knows what he's holdin' back
Wearin' an expression of no feeling
He hides the hurts with insults and beatings
The children wonder, but they don't ask
It's hard to imagine what's behind the mask
His choice makes the difference of a secret world
Sometimes he wishes he was never born
Through the wind and the rain he stands hard as a stone,
In a world that he can't rise above,
But his dreams give him wings and he flies to a place where he's loved,
Concrete angel,
Anger lets free in the middle of the night
His mother hears, but turns of the light
A broken boy caught in the world of fate
When mornin' comes it'll be too late
Through the wind and the rain he stands hard as a stone,
In a world that he can't rise above,
But his dreams give him wings and he flies to a place where he's loved
Concrete angel
A war ends with many traces
Families broken with missing faces
His name is written on a polished rock,
A lonely hero that the world forgot,
Through the wind and the rain he stands hard as a stone,
In a world that he can't rise above
But his dreams give him wings and he flies to a place where he's loved,
Concrete angel
"I'm so sorry, Draco. Rest in peace, child."

Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter, any characters, the song "Concrete Angel" by Martina McBride, the lyrics from foresaid song. The only things I do own are the last stanzas of lyrics, the storyline, and any additions/changes I made to the original lyrics.
Dedicated to: All those lonely heroes out in the world today.
This fic was inspired by The Silver Ring by Silver Wolf Eyes, but the idea of Draco being abused is obviously not hers alone. Play the song and sing along, most of the lyrics not only make sense, but also fit into the original song themselves. Feedback is always appreciated.
