Peter sat in the courtyard; he was waiting for prongs to get out of detention.
He hoped that maybe they could use the passageway they had discovered the other day and possibly pilfer some sweets from honeydukes.
When he spotted James from across the courtyard he jumped down from the stone wall he was sitting on and jogged over to his friend.
"Hey James, want to go raid honeydukes again?" he asked trying to match James strides to keep up with him.
"Not today Peter." He said
"Oh ok, that's fine, how about we go mess with some first years?"
"No wormtail, I need to go find Evans." He said, speeding up a little "maybe later"
Peter stopped walking "ok, that's fine; I'll go find moony or padfoot then."
"Sure, whatever peter, do what you want.'' James said before disappearing around the corner.
Sirius could be anywhere, Peter thought, but Remus was probably in the library, so he began to make his way up there.
Sure enough Remus was in the back, his nose in a book.
"Hey Remus, what are you doing?" he asked.
"Reading wormtail, what does it look like?" he said, not bothering to look up.
"Of course, silly question. When will you be finished? I was hoping maybe we could go back to the common room, maybe play some chess?"
"Cant wormtail, I'm meeting Sirius here, he needed help with his charms essay.''
As if on cue, Sirius walked up behind him and thumped peter on the back of the head.
"Sod off wormtail, we have work to do."
Peter scowled "well when do you guys think you'll be done?"
Remus shrugged. "Not sure, why don't you go find James?"
"He's with Lilly."
"Well, why don't you go do something besides breath over our shoulder, we need to get to work." Sirius said.
"You know, one of these days you guys will want to hangout and I won't be there, I'll be with my other friends.''
Sirius laughed. "I doubt that wormtail; you don't have any other friends."
Peter huffed and walked away.
He had almost made it out of the library when a slytherin stepped out of the shadows.
"Saw what happened back there. Seems like your friends don't really appreciate you."
"It's none of your business, now move aside." Peter said, trying to sidestep the boy.
"You know, me and my friends are always looking for new people to…hang out with. We even have a sort of…club, if you will. I'm sure you'd fit right in."
Peter was confused now. "I'm a Gryffindor, you're a slytherin. Why would we hang out?"
The boy shrugged "we don't mind, we take what we can get. So are you in? Or not? I don't have all day."
Peter threw a glance over his shoulder.
His friends never had time for him, but he'd show them who was boss.
Peter nodded "I'm in".
