Tsukiyomi Ikuto stared up at the dark sky, willing the rain to come and drench him; daring it; testing it. He stood there for who knows how long, people passing him without a second glance, bumping into him without any form of apology. He didn't care. It didn't matter; nothing mattered. He closed his fists into a tight ball and ran from the crowded streets into an alley.

But I don't even belong here; he thought bitterly I am not a free alley cat. His guardian character, Yoru, floated helplessly by his shoulder. He had figured out long ago that nothing he could do or say would help Ikuto now. Ikuto's jaw clenched, and he turned and punched the alleys brick wall as hard as he could, ignoring the beads of scarlet blood that ran down his hand afterwards.

Finally, the rain came, bringing a waterfall of Ikuto's tears with it. He tilted his head up towards the sky and screamed. A scream full of bitter feelings, regret, pain, loss, and some other feeling he couldn't identify, a feeling that dwelled deep in his broken heart. He screamed until his throat hurt, until the rain drenched his slim frame, until Yoru finally got the courage to speak up.

"Ikuto, Ikuto! Stop it, nya! It's not worth it! Ikuto!" His cry was desperate, but did not go unrewarded. Ikuto silenced his screams and slid down the alleys' grimy wall, hugging his knees to his chest. His skin became clammy, and his normally fair skin became pale. Hypothermia was going to set in soon. Ikuto's head drooped and his eyelids fluttered. Yoru was calling his name, but it sounded distant, like it was coming from another dimension.

He stared longingly at the sky, his eyes going dull.

Kill me,

The rain began to cease

I can't do it anymore

It was drizzling now, a cold, hellish drizzle.

I wanted to do other things, where have my dreams gone too? I feel nothing but the cold stone of my heart….

He blinked slowly, and was dimly aware of Yoru licking his hand and nuzzling his face, before the chara sunk back into the dying boy's heart.

Ikuto smiled at nothing, remembering the good times he had, but not even his precious memories could lift his heavy heart.

Thank you,

he slid his eyes closed

for everything.

And there, in an alley all alone, Tsukiyomi Ikuto listened to his heartbeat begin to fade. His mind could no longer process thoughts, and his body was unwilling to fight. Finally….his heartbeat slowed to a silent end.

And at that moment…
the rain stopped.

And the sun began to shine.

(A/N: Oh goodness, my own story is going to make me cry. I love Tsukiyomi Ikuto, so I don't know why the evil plot bunnies possessed me to write this. Love you Tsukiyomi Ikuto, and for all his fans out there, he is alive, well, and with meeeeee!
Ikuto: Angel doesn't own Shugo Chara!)
