Geordi never really thought about what it would be like to kiss Data. Mainly because he never thought it would ever happen. But when their lips finally met, it wasn't what he had expected. Even though his brain told him that Data's polymer "skin" was entirely lifelike, even down to having a warm, human-like temperature, somehow he had thought that Data's kisses would be hard, cold. But they weren't. Geordi knew that Data had been kissed before, but never by a man. And never by someone he knew so well. Geordi was hoping that would make a difference, since Data hadn't expressed any kind of enjoyment or preference for his previous experiences with being kissed.
This had been building over a long time, Geordi realized. When had Data stopped being his best friend and started being something more?
They were in a Jefferies tube. The anomaly in the warp coils had been investigated checked out. Geordi had turned his head and found that there was a small thrill of excitement in being so close to Data. Geordi had been a bout to say something, but forgot what it was. Data tilted his head questioningly.
"Um…let me…" Geordi said. He stopped, unsure, doubtful.
"What is it, Geordi?"
Geordi took a deep breath. "Let me try something. Hold still, ok?" Data nodded.
Geordi leaned forward, slowly, met Data's eyes. And gently, their lips touched, and the ship stopped, and time stood still.
But just for a moment.
"How's it going with those warp coils, Geordi?" Riker's voice sounded over Geordi's communicator.
Geordi sighed lightly against Data's lips and tapped his chest. "It's fine. Just a sensor echo," he replied.
He sat back on his heels, looked at Data. Data looked like he was processing a lot of information. Finally, he spoke.
"Our first kiss," he remarked hesitantly.
Geordi smiled. That meant there would be more.

Author's note:
This is something I was just playing with. I want to write a Geordi/Data thing someday, but I was wondering if I could do it. I'm used to Spock and Kirk (writing them, I mean), so I wasn't sure how difficult it would be for me to capture Geordi and Data's characters. Anyway, please let me know what you think!
(Also, the idea for this came from an episode of TNG I was watching the other night. Geordi and Data were in a Jefferies tube and they were REALLY close. I mean REALLY CLOSE. It was fun.)
