So this is my second fic. And yeah. I was bored. Based on a song from the movie/musical Sweeney Todd. Which I have actually yet to see. And based shortly after Truth or Consequences.

"Tony, why are you here?"

Those words still in his head weeks after, after Ziva is now officially an agent, after everything is going well.

Didn't she want to see him?

Didn't she want to be saved?

He thought she was dead. He thought he would never see her again.

And he probably wouldn't, if it weren't for him.

She owed him her life, literally.

No, she didn't. He owed her his life.

Without Ziva, nothing would be the same.

What would have happened if he never met her? If Ari never killed Kate? If he wasn't on Gibbs's team, or even an agent working for NCIS.

I guess we'll never know.

Then his phone started ringing, his funky little tune Abby made for him. It was her.

"Hello?"

"Tony? My car broke down a few blocks away from my house. Do you think you could pick me up? Would not want the new probie to get on Gibbs's bad side by being late would you?"

"S- sure, be right over."

And that was it.

What would he say? A entire car ride just her and him.

The ride there was so quick he almost forgot to stop when he got to her.

The door opened, she got in, and she sat down.

That was it.

5 minutes into the ride she finally talked. Sort of.

"Thank you."

"For picking you up? No problem."

"No, Tony, for saving my life. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be here. Somalia. It almost killed me. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be here. I suppose everyone deserves to die-"

"It was not your time to die, and will not be for awhile. Hopefully a long while."

"I have changed, Tony. I am ready to die, whenever it comes I will be ready. Somalia really has changed me."

He knew he had to say something but there really was nothing to say. He knew that Ziva has changed because of what Saleem did to her, and that it would change her forever. And there was nothing he could do.

So the rest of the car ride was in silence. Well, most of it. Right before they pulled into the parking lot he decided to tell her what he had wanting to be telling her for ages.

I love you. Except, not really.

He really told Ziva the one thing that he hoped would help her stay the loving Ziva she is.

"Nothing's gonna harm you, not while I'm around."

Hope you liked it! Review and such. :)
